Popular in Europe and the East sphero-conical type of helmet. In the Soviet historiography, this helmet is called "Norman helm" Western historians call it "nasal helm" - helmet with nasel.
We offer many options and modifications of this type of medieval helmet.
In Kievan Rus the nasal helm was often used with chainmail, leather or padded camail. The camail could be both circular and partial (covering just back and sides). In Europe, Norman helmet was usually worn over the mail coif.
This type of medieval helmet was in use during the 9-14th centuries, although yet in the 13 century the other, more modern types of helmets had begun to actively supplant it.
