Morion is a type of medieval helmet with high crest and strongly curved brims from the front and from behind. Presumably it appeared in Spain in the early 16th century.
Morion was mostly used by infantry, but sometimes by cavalry as well. This rather popular and convenient helmet was used by ceremonial guards until the early 17th century.
The morion pictured in the photo was made according to the customer requirements and adapted for the SCA fighting. It is equipped with two removable visors and covered with blueing. The dome and crest of the helmet are additionally decorated with brass plates.
