The brigandines are perfectly well for light combats because of its mobility and comfortable wearing. Pictures show good flexibility of the brigandines
We developed new system of making brigandines. We build them up using not just light rivets or rivets. We use complex building up the plates with rivets, leather washers and steel washers for the outer shell of a brigandine and the steel washer from inside of the brigandine to avoid tear out during heavy fighting. For building up with pop rivets we use following order. Pop-rivet with wide head and leather washer from outer shell and the steel ending of the pop-rivet. See sketch building up with pop- rivets
Brigandine of Spanish mounted knight of 14th century.
The brigandine is built up with big steel plates 15 x 10cm. Each plate is fixed with 8 rivets.
